David's Table School in Sayyi
So many times in life, we are not thankful and complain about our lot in life. When Mary Linette was in Sayyi, Uganda, Africa with Pastor Elia Musasizi, she visited David’s Table School in the Sayyi area. They have 200+ students they educate from preschool to 7th grade. The school has a tin roof, but only had a few papyrus reeds (see pictures below) for exterior walls.
The conditions are very poor! The school only has dirt floors, which causes the children to get jiggers and raises lots of dust in the classrooms, so it makes it hard for the children to study. They do not have enough desks for all the children, so many study from the ground.
The only food these children have in a day's time is porridge. Pastor Stella is the school administrator. Her eyes filled with tears as she shared their story. Her love for these children was very evident! To help bring change to this school, For the Love of Africa Ministries gave a grant to David’s Table School, helping make some much needed repairs to this school.
The same day they began working on making the much needed repairs, school administrators had come to close the school down. We are so thankful that God used FOLA to save these 200+ students’ school, as it is the only school in this area.
