Mercy Bible Institute

At the beginning of 2019, the Ugandan government announced that it was making it “mandatory” for Ugandan pastors to get a certificate and/or degree to pastor a church. Since FOLA works “through the local church,” we felt it was important to provide financing for the Mercy Bible Institute government registration. MBI was able to get their organizational papers and in September 2019, their first class of fifteen students graduated with a certificate.

At the beginning of the 2020 school year, 80 pastors and leaders were registered for classes. As the program began, Mary Linette had the privilege of teaching two 10-hour back-to-back classes (5 credit hour sessions) on How to Hear the Voice of God and also Intro to Development, Round Table Group Discussions, Budgeting & Finances, Spiritual Gifting Testing, and Having a Good Work Ethic.
